Chen Wen
Hsi, a Singapore Chinese Artist, was born in Jieyang
(near Shantou) in the Guangdong Province of China in
1906. He was fond of painting animals and
landscapes. His Chinese ink paintings, at times
semi-abstract in form, reveal the influence of 20th
century Western art, in particular Cubism and
Abstract Expressionism. Chen Wen Hsi also painted in
the oil medium. |
